I saw these star shaped marshmallows at the store and just couldn’t resist bringing them home. After mulling it over for a few days, I finally came up with this flag craft to do with the red, blue and white marshmallows. The pictures make a great step-by-step for this American flag craft.
F.Y.I. We got the blue and red baskets from JoAnn’s this past week.
Have fun celebrating Flag Day tomorrow. If you want to know how the flag got it’s nickname Old Glory, check out the story of Captain William Driver.

I haven’t seen start marshmallows in our area. I love the sorting and patterns made by the stripes. Very cute and tasty too. 🙂

BRILLIANT! I just picked some of these marshmellows up yesterday and have been wondering what I should do with them! THANKS!

Kellie–I’m so glad someone else found the star marshmallows! Hope you enjoy your crafting 🙂
Kristi-I was so excited to work in the sorting since my older girl hasn’t ever been much of a sorter and this activity made it a lot more fun for her.

Just so you know you inspired a neighborhood craft-a-thon. The marshmallows were on sale at my safeway for 99 cents, so I picked up 3 bags, and I had 6 toddlers in my front yard making ( and eating) these flags!
Thanks for the super fun idea!

I would have eaten the marshmallows and end up not creating a flag. Great idea as an activity for the kids. The kids seem to love the cute marshmallows. Their work looks great.
