We have been inundated with new music recently. We have enjoyed many of the albums and this one is no exception. Sammi and Elli have been taking turns singing Sail Away Ladies for a few weeks now. I was initially drawn to Astrograss because they are a kids’ bluegrass band with roots in Appalachian bluegrass. Since we are in the heart of Appalachia, I could hardly resist the opportunity to get to know them.
Sail Away Ladies by Astrograss
I’ve written a few times already about how we are enjoying The Colored Pencil Factory by Astrograss. First Astrograss made its way into a the first Mixed Media post. We used the title song and created some fantastic black and white photos with colored pencil accents. This project was so fun that the girls continued on and both independently created colored pencil factories. Here’s Elli’s picture:
I also wrote about their song Continental Geography. I absolutely love songs about traveling and about the world as a place to explore. This song fits both of these perfectly.
Astrograss also offers four songs as free downloads on their website. I love their rendition of This Land Is Your Land. Seriously, that’s how it should sound.
Astrograss has generously offered one copy of their new album The Colored Pencil Factory to one of you! Just follow the directions in the Rafflecopter below to enter for your chance to win. I like the songs that you can download from their site! Especially this land is our land 😀
I liked that one, too. Their style just fits that song so well.
