I received a flattering email the other week wondering if I’d like to work with VTech for the holiday season. I was excited about the possibility. I’ve recently been wondering if it’s time to introduce a few more techy toys into Sammi’s collection. I’d looked at VTech’s Bugsby Reading System and at LeapFrog’s ClickStart but was a bit hesitant about making the transition.
I read through the press release describing the various products they have released for the holiday gift-giving season. My attention was drawn to a Ride and Learn Giraffe Bike (18-36 months) that Elli is just getting old enough for. The review included in the press release says, “The buttons are very easy to push and we love that their are so many animals to choose from!… I love the whole “keep kids active” idea…This line of toys is setting a good message and we are thinking of getting [my son] the “weights” so he can use his instead of mine when we work out! – Amanda, Lady Evelyns’ Blog“
I like the sound of that! I’ve tried to work out a few times while the girls are awake and it’s always Elli that dashes my hopes of exercising for longer than 5 minutes. I was offered my choice of toy to review or to giveaway. After giving a lot of thought to the matter, I was filled with the gift-giving spirit of the season. So, although I’ve not tested this product myself, I’ve agreed to host the giveaway on behalf of VTech.

What a neat prize-the kids would love this!
This time of year we have dance parties where we act silly and dance around the house
We go on walks on the beach…we do live in Florida a few miles from the beach though.
My little one has been going on walks since she was a zygote! She loves being outside, and we are hoping that we are cultivating a love for being outside in her, which will lead to a more active lifestyle.
I have my daughter in dance classes, gymnastics, even in boxing classes.
What a fun little bike/toy! I too have been looking into getting Carter some new tech savvy toys, as he as none, cuz I think kids should be making the fun, not the toy. Yesterday I stumbled across a vtech product that I actually wanted to know more about. Anyway, what a fun giveaway!

That looks like so much fun! I love Vtech. We have some Vbaby things and love them. Always educational and good family fun.
We stay active by turning our music up loud and dancing. My kids actually have better moves than me.

We’ve taken our little guy on long walks since he was a newborn, and now that he’s a toddler, he walks next to the stroller instead of riding. Our walks take a lot longer now!
The other day I picked up a plug-n-play type Wii-style video game set for $29.99. I was having second thoughts about it being a waste of money, but my boys like the sports stuff on it and whenever I see them playing with it they are off the couch and moving around. It was worth it, especially when they can’t go outside to play.
I love to dance with my kids! We are always putting on music and dancing as we do our chores to help keep active!!

well, we don’t have a tv, so we are often reading or going outside and chasing the dog!
Lots and lots of playing outside. My kids love it.
How fun! What a great way to play and get exercise. My toddler loves to dance and run. Everywhere we go she says “run, run, run mommy”. We live near the park and walk to and from it when the weather is good. There is also an indoor swimming pool at the recreation center. It’s a great place to go when the weather is to cold.

I just saw an ad for this item and thought it looked interesting. I’m not much for electronic games/toys but this is at least active. I hope to encourage my little one to be active (when he’s older) by being active as a family–biking, hiking, etc. Thanks for hosting the giveaway!
I have four kids and the key to keeping them active is keeping the tv off!
How fun would this be?! My little girl loves dancing and running around and this would be one more way to get her endless amounts of energy out!! We love playing outside when the weather is nice and when it isn’t, we have little dance parties inside!
We have a swing set in our back yard that we play on alot. We also go to the park and take walks around the block. It’s starting to get to cold to do that, so we’ll probably have lots of tickle fights soon.
I saw this on television and it did capture my attention… Very cool giveaway. Hmmm?? Ways to keep kids busy: Have more than one. Kid, that is. They’ll occupy each other. LOL. Okay, seriously figuring out things your child is really into/addicted to. My son loves watching movies so a new movie for him would keep him occupied, one of my daughters loves to create pictures by drawing, coloring or painting – definitely an art set, but for the littlest one I really don’t know. A combination of both because she wants to do whatever her siblings do.

I have my daughter in Kindermusik classes, where she sings, dances, and interacts with other children. She also likes to ride her bike around the neighborhood, and we visit Pump It Up, our local inflatable party place for playdates with her friends. There they jump, slide, and run until they actually look forward to nap time–love it!
I love to dance with my granddaughter. Dancing is fun and a great exercise.
We have a farm and chickens so the kids keep busy outdoors! Thanks for the great giveaway! :O)

I would encourage outdoor activities. Go to the parks with the kids, fly a kite, ride bikes, or hit or kick some balls. They become active and get the “sunshine vitamin” (vitamin D).
I would love one of these for my little guy, who is intimidated by bikes
I take my kids to the park and we also go on after dinner walks.

We dance! A lot… around the house, I pick them up, I kneel down with them… whatever, but we dance our hearts out all the time. In Colorado it can get chilly so we need things to do inside, we Wii, dance and let them play running/screaming tag around the kitchen/dining room.
It’s our active play at nights.

turn music on and dance with them. Throw a bouncy ball down the hall and let them chase it (wood floors). Fill 3-5 pop bottles with a little water and use a ball to knock them over (bowling).
