Rock and Roll Garden with Bari Koral-Giveaway!-CLOSED
This was a CD of firsts for our family!
The first time I changed my laptime program on the way to the library just to include songs from this CD. We listened to it for the first time on the way to the library last Friday.
The first time my children did all the actions to the songs on very first time they heard the songs! This one really blew me away. I looked back in the rear view mirror and they were touching their toes and nose, raising their hands high and even attempting to turn around while remaining buckled in their seats. Such creativity!
The first time we have religiously carried a CD from house to car and back into the house every time we’ve gone somewhere.
We were excited to work with Waldmania! again to review a CD of music for kids that adults like too. We had enjoyed Milkshake and were hoping for something of equal caliber. We were not disappointed! We enjoyed the upbeat, energetic style of Bari Koral’s Family Rock Band in their new album Rock and Roll Garden.
Bari Koral has been compared to Jewel and Norah Jones, but for me, Bari is my soul sister, the sister to the part of my soul that aspires to change children’s lives and help parents connect with their children through music. The first time listening to her new album, I knew we had found a family classic.
This album doesn’t go on sale until January 12, unfortunately, so I can’t put it on my Christmas gift guide. BUT, I wanted to. Although it is available for pre-order though Amazon and Bari Koral’s website.
Now for the good news!

Our family adores music. My husband is a classical musician, but we listen to just about all kinds of music. We almost always start the day with music, usually something up-beat to get us going (getting dressed is way easier if you are dancing at the same time, ask any 3 year old!!). We also usually have an after-dinner dance session and we even have a special song that we play when we are picking up toys. All that said, adding something new to our music collection would be wonderful! Thanks for offering such a great “prize”!
My daughter and I have attended Kindermusik classes since she was 18 months old, and we love to put the cd player on while we do chores or crafts. We love to take turns making up songs about things we see when we’re driving down the road. Music is a huge part of mommy/daughter bonding in our house and we always welcome new tunes!
I’m in! I love a good children’s cd! Thanks for the fun giveaway.
My daughter’s first lullabye was my husband singing, “I Wanna Be Sedated” while playing guitar. Not a bad intro to music! Now we sing a mix of children’s songs, church songs, and classic/modern rock songs. This cd sounds like a great addition to our collection.
First, I have to comment on Adrienne’s comment – we’re big Ramones fans here! That brings me to how my family enjoys music. When my son was just a baby, I used to play kids CD’s, things like Raffi and Putamayo (whic we still love). One day our CD changer skipped to the next CD, a women’s punk compilation (Mom Aid 2005) and my toddler immediately started opping his head and dancing! That showed me it was definitely time to break out the more energetic/rockin’ bands. This album sounds right up our alley!
I have to say music is the best way to connect to kids. My first daughter now 21 is autistic. If she didn’t have music in her life she would have never talked. That is how she had most of her speech through music. Other than that there was no conversation. If she didn’t sing songs you would never hear her voice.
I’ve been singing to my little one since birth! Now, when anyone sings, she “sings” along. It is so precious.
My children love music so we sing and dance in the car to popular music. They actually have their kids songs CD in now. They danced through two CDs and asked for a third but have wandered off. Sometimes we dance together. It’s fun to see the kind of dancing they do. I won’t mention who but one of my children has no rhythm what-so-ever! LOL
Always up for a good new music CD, especially one that both my daughter and I can enjoy…and maybe even my husband!! Something that I like to do with my daughter is have her listen to all kinds of music and we figure out what each song makes us think of based on the music. I feel it helps develop her imagination as she is not limited to what the title of the song is, especially with classical music.
What a great giveaway! We always have music playing in our house…the kids love it
My kids and I are always jamming out to music and even have a miracle music program that helps them get all their things done in the morning and evening so they are ready quickly and in bed on time! My son’s favorite song though is eye of the tiger which is just hilarious to listen to him sing but we are always listening to music!!
Hey Amber, we miss you here! Hope you are enjoying your new home…sounds like you are! This CD sounds like loads of fun. We love having “dance parties” and I want more than one kids CD…I totally want to buy this one…so winning it would be even better!
Our family is addicted to music! My husband is is actually professionally trained and writes, sings, and plays guitar. Although I have no professional training, I love to sing, especially to Jewel, and make music apart of my children’s everyday lives. My oldest daughter (9 years old) is infatuated with The Beatles. My toddler enjoys singing, dancing, and playing at our local mommy and me music group. And our newborn baby is the lucky recipient of a children’s picture story/lullaby combination book that my husband and I are writing just for him. Our family would love to listen to this CD!
We are in the car a lot so that is where I love to play music for my daughter…this onesounds good!
I have three children ages 2, 3 and 4 and every day we have silly dance hour. We put music on and our family “dances” around the living room together…even my husband, myself and the dog get in on the fun. If I forget…my kids are sure to remind me.

This sounds like a great CD!
We’re music rather than TV people, and our CD player is almost always on. C has always liked Raffi and similar artists, and I like to mix grown-up music in on her CDs to give her more variety. Lately she’s really liking jazz and swing music. She’s been singing a lot lately, and I just love hearing her and watching her make up actions to the songs!
We love to sing to Zachary. It’s the best when we start a song and realize that we don’t know all the words. I would love the CD to get some fun songs to sing.
